Colorado National is located 20 miles north of Denver off I-25 at Baseline Road to the west within a residential development.

The golf course is a rolling, links type layout along a mostly treeless landscape over hard and fast fairways with water hazards in play on half the holes. There's a generous amount of sand bunkers at the landing zones off the tee and defending the generous, undulating, and quick greens. There's varying changes in elevation throughout with 180 degree views of the Rockies including Long's Peak and Mount Meeker. From the back tees it's 7,676 yards or as short as 4,790 yards, the Copper tees play to 6,230 yards, 68.7/117, course/slope ratings, designed by Jay Morrish.
