Chestnut Mountain is 17 miles south of Asheville, just west of the Asheville Regional Airport, within a residential community.

The layout winds through the community with the homes generally set back off the fairways. There are four ponds in play and several wetland areas as the course moves over hilly and sloping fairways lined with pines and oaks, and views over the valley area. There are tees from 4,560 to 6,276 yards; the White tees are 5,654 yards, 67.9/128, course/slope ratings, designed by Tom Jackson.
