The Chequamegon Bay Golf Club is on the west side of Ashland, about an hour east of Superior.

The golf course is set on rolling hills and forested terrain, overlooking Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior. The layout features broad, undulating fairways with multiple water hazards and a modest amount of sand traps. It plays to 6,566 yards from the tips, 70.1/126, course/slope ratings, and three shorter tees. Sandy Campbell designed the initial nine holes in the 1920s, with the new nine and a redesign by Garrett Gill in 1996.
