Champion Hill is about 45 minutes southwest of Traverse City in Beulah just east of Frankfort.

The golf course's layout is a blend of narrow, forested fairways along with more open, links-like holes bordered by tall heather in a scenic setting with distant views of Lake Michigan, Crystal and Platte Lakes. It was designed by Jim Cole and Lee Stone in 2000 and from the back tees plays to 6,884 yards, 71.9/121, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
