Butterfield Trail is on the northeast side of El Paso adjoining the international Airport.

The layout winds through desert terrain over mounded, contoured fairways with the nearby Franklin Mountains as a backdrop. It features a blend of holes requiring strategic play while others allow more generous fairway with a combination of large waste areas and sand bunkers, blind shots, water features, forced carries, and elevated tees and greens. There's six sets of tees overall with the middle, Silver tees playing to 6,480 yards, 69.2/123, course/slope ratings, designed by Tom Fazio.
