Blue Ridge Shadows is about an hour west of the NOVA area off I-66 north of Front Royal. It is in a scenic setting in the Shenandoah Valley, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.

It's a parkland layout over hilly land, through tree-lined and split fairways along ridge lines, and features a 50-foot waterfall. The layout is strategic, with numerous water hazards and well-placed sand bunkers along the fairways guarding the large, contoured greens. Tom Clark designed the stunning layout of 7,315 yards, 75.5/143 course/slope ratings from the back tees with four shorter sets of tees.
