Bear Lake is an hour south of Waynesville in a 2,100-acre resort and residential community with lodging on Bear Lake.

The golf course is essentially a par-3 layout with two par-4s laid onto the summit, 1,300 feet above Bear Lake at an elevation of 3,600 feet. There are a variety of scenic and challenging par-3s from 62 to 134 yards and 381- and 325-yard par-4s over plunging fairways sporting 60-mile views in the Blue Ridge Mountains. From the Blue tees, it plays to 1,945 yards, 30.0/118 course/slope ratings, with three shorter tee boxes, designed by Nicklaus Design.
