Alpine Bay is on the east side of the Coosa River, 20 minutes west of Talladega.

The layout is carved through the deep pines over rolling terrain without homes or development. There's a challenging mix of wide and narrow fairway corridors, and blind shots and doglegs with a generous amount of sand and several holes with water in play. There are five sets of tees from 4,690 yards to 6,558 yards; the white tees play to 6,149 yards, 69.4/128, course/slope ratings, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.
