Tanglewood is 20 miles south of Shelbyville off US 64 on the west side of Taylorsville Lake.

The golf course is a hilly, parkland layout along sloping and rolling fairways with multiple water hazards, but a sparing use of sand bunkers typically defending the modest greens. It's challenging with the narrow fairways producing uneven lies, numerous blind shots, and several interesting risk/reward opportunities with drivable par 4s, and potentially reachable par 5s in two. There's four sets of tees overall, the white tees play to 6,302 yards, 70.1/129, course/slope ratings, designed by Buck Blankenship.
