Downers Grove Golf Club

The Downers Grove Golf Club is a municipal golf course located southwest of the intersection of Ogden and Belmont.

The golf course is an artifact from golf's history as it was designed by Charles Blair Macdonald in 1892 during the golden age of golf course architecture. The course was originally the Chicago Golf Club with 18 holes, then the Belmont Club, but was later reduced to 9 holes when it was purchased by the Downers Grove Park District. While the course, facilities, and maintenance are beholden to municipal standards, the bones of the original layout are still intact on holes 2, 4, 7, 8 & 9. It traverses a compact tract of forested and hilly terrain crowded with old growth hardwoods featuring water features on four holes and 20 sand bunkers altogether. There's four sets of tees from 2,515 yards to 3,280 yards, 36.3/131, course/slope ratings.
