Black Diamond is near Millersburg in the hills of Holmes County, a 1 1/2 hour drive from Cleveland and an hour from Columbus.

The course has a variety of narrow, tree lined fairways along with wide open, links-style holes along completely natural borders without housing or development. There's varying degrees of elevation change as the fairways slope and roll with numerous water hazards and sand bunkers both along the fairways and greens and heavy rough at the borders. The greens are of all shapes and sizes, slightly undulating and several with tired surfaces. It was designed by Barry Serafin in 2000 and plays to 6,460 yards, 71.3/130, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tees.
